MOSCOW. RIA Novosti - Vietnam and Russia are in talks to supply additional frigates of Project 3.9 "Gepard" with modernized missile complex, spokesman Zelenodolsk Plant, Gorky Rafis Fatykhov told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
In 2011, the Russian Federation has put Vietnam two frigates of the project 3.9. Another two "Gepard" for the Vietnamese Navy is currently located at the Zelenodolsk plant, which is being installed on ships armament.
"Negotiations are under way to extend the series of frigates of Project 3.9 "Gepard" for the Vietnamese Navy with advanced weaponry, in particular, with modernized missile complex," - said Fatykhov.
Frigates Project 3.9 "Gepard" is an export modification patrol ships of project 11661, produced at the Zelenodolsk plant in Tatarstan.
